Mama Bear

Welcome to my 10-part series that will highlight the most influential people in my life to date.

It would be foolish to try and start this series without acknowledging one of the most important influences in my life: mama bear.

My mom has been in my life since I was born, and before! Ever since I was a little girl, I have shared a special bond with her. She is without a doubt my best friend in all circumstances and will always be there for me, even when we get at each other’s throats.

You’ve heard it all before from everyone describing their moms, they are the best mom, they work hard to support their families and they are selfless. But these descriptions really do describe my mom for real. My mom works two (sometimes three) jobs to keep the rest of us in the family happy. She hardly ever gets time for herself, but you never hear her complain because she really just wants everyone else around her to be happy.

So now that you’ve learned a bit about why my mama bear makes the list, here’s a bit of insight into who she is as a person:

Relationship:
Mother

Job:
Insurance Broker at Jones Deslauriers Insurance Management Inc.
Cashier at Metro
Occasional Insurance teacher

Favourite Activity to do Together:
Go for lunch at the Boathouse and to the movies

Favourite Colour:
Purple

Best Memory:
Going on a cruise with mama and my sister from Fort Lauderdale to Key West and Cozumel. It was so nice to see my mama relaxed and happy.

Where most say a dog is a man’s best friend, a mama is a woman’s best friend. I obviously would not be where I am today without my mama, for more reasons than just the fact that she gave birth to me. She has supported me through all of my phases and all of my worrying and yet still isn’t embarrassed to say I am her daughter. I’d say that takes a pretty strong woman!

Until next time,

Tiffany Nobes
