Brother Bear

There’s just one more person in my family that I could not live without on my team. My big brother of course! Rielly is like that person on your team that is always yelling at you and pushing you to do better and sometimes you just want to scream at them, but you know that if they weren’t there you wouldn’t be trying as hard as you are.

Or maybe, he’s like the mom in the bleachers yelling at you to do better at everything, even though they don’t play the game themselves. Okay, that comparison isn’t true, but I just wanted to compare him to a Mom in some way.

As you can tell, my brother and I have a love-hate relationship. We hate on each other in a loving way. He even has a loving nickname for me… Spaz. Ever since I was little, my brother would babysit my sister and I when my parents went away or when they were at work in the summer time. So needless to say, I spent a lot of time with my brother growing up and more often than not it was in situations when he was the boss. Uh oh.

When you’re little no one wants to listen to their babysitter, especially when it is your brother. He would say to stop doing something so I would keep doing it, he would say not to dig in the garden so I would keep digging, he would say no TV so I would turn the TV on… I think you get the point.

Check out more reasons as to why my brother makes the list:

Relationship:
Brother

Job:
I’m pretty sure he drives boats for fishing expeditions somewhere near the Manitoba border… Right???

Favourite Activity to do Together:
Going to Costco! Fun fact, him and I have linked Costco cards! Awwww.

Favourite Colour:
Probably black. Like his soul. And his coffee!

Best Memory:
When he threw a spoon at my head for checking the answering machine messages. Maybe not the best memory, but one that sticks out for sure!

I’ve been joking quite a bit in this post because it’s really how my brother and I interact, we don’t really get mushy a lot. But all joking aside, my brother is one of the most important influences in my life. Him and I are much more similar than we would like to admit, and I have learned how to be determined and strong willed from him. He doesn’t take crap from anybody and stands up for what he believes in, even if there are a hundred people against him. I may not get to seem him that often anymore, but the times I do get to hangout with my brother are filled with loud music, teasing, jokes and fun. Whether he likes it or not, he’s got me for a sister and I’ve got him for my big brother and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Until next time,

Tiffany Nobes
